Had lunch with a couple today who have two great kids, one pre-teens and one early teens. They are doing an awesome job as parents, but were feeling like they weren't due to their youngest being a bit of a handful. Our kids are a bit older and look so perfect and lovely when they are out in public that they decided to come to us for some advice. I had a bit of a laugh and then told them what our beautiful kids have been like at times, behind closed doors and how we got through some of the challenges. I think Mum decided they weren't doing too bad after all when I explained that I had used some dog psychology with our youngest. Many thanks to Dr Harry our television pet expert here in Australia.
Really at the end of the day most parents are doing a great job but just don't have faith in themselves. Although I do have to say that a healthy prayer life helps...... working on the premise that if they are a gift from God then surely he knows what to do with the little blessings when all hell seems to be breaking loose!
